  • Naturopathic Medicine is based on the belief that the human body has an innate healing ability. The job of the Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is to support the body’s ability to heal and remove any obstacles to cure.

We teach our patients to use nutrition, lifestyle changes and cutting edge natural therapies to enhance their bodies’ ability to heal.

We view the patient as a complex, interrelated system (a whole person), not as a single clogged artery or a tumor.

Naturopaths craft comprehensive treatment plans that blend the best of modern medical science and traditional natural medical approaches to not only treat disease, but to also restore health.

  • A licensed ND attends a 4 year Naturopathic Medical School and takes National Board Exams upon graduation that enables them to be licensed. The curriculum is rigorous and very similar to a standard medical school (pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, and all the basic sciences) but has more of an emphasis on natural and nontoxic approaches to healing. ND’s also learn to approach the body from a whole body perspective where treatment considers the whole body when addressing a particular health issue such as headaches or digestive issues. The ND’s goal is to optimize health rather than just ameliorate the illness.

  • You may schedule your first appointment by contacting our office by phone 707-329-6987 or email at drelizabethlarge@gmail.com.

  • If you need to cancel, we ask for 48 business hours notice prior to cancellation. Cancellations without 48 business hours notice are subject to a charge.

  • Naturopaths work by finding the root cause of your health issues rather than simply treating symptoms, more time is spent with patients. I typically spend from 30-120 minutes with each patient. Please call the office for my current rates.

  • Our office carries some of the prescribed supplements, others will be available from Fullscript or Wellevate for you to order online. Dr. Large will create your individual prescription online which will be emailed to you. Dr. Large recommends that you use the brands that she prescribes, this guarantees quality and effectiveness. If there is a particular product you currently use, please inform her at your appointment.

(Beyond Balance, Byron White, Pekana and Researched Nutritionals are not available to patients directly and must be purchased through Dr. Large.)

  • Most likely she can take over your current prescriptions. Please bring a list to your first visit. ND’s cannot prescribe schedule I or II pain medications. When needing a refill, please make sure that you call your pharmacy at least a week in advance and have a refill request faxed to 707-329-6987. You must be seen in person at least once a year depending on the prescription. Some prescriptions will require yearly or bi-yearly labs or imaging.

  • Visits: ND’s in California do not bill insurance. You may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement of your visit depending on your insurance company. Health Saving Accounts may also be used to cover your visit and prescribed supplements. Please ask Dr. Large to give you a superbill at the end of your visit to submit to your insurance company.

Testing: A wide range of testing is available, some may be covered by insurance.

RX: Prescription drugs are usually covered by insurance or require a co-pay similar to seeing an MD. However, compounded medication such as Bioidentical Hormone Therapy is not typically covered.

Supplements: Health Saving Accounts may be used to cover your visit and prescribed supplements.
